Hebrews

did you know that unbelief is a sin. actually it is disobedience. it says it right here in Hebrews 3:17-19

and with whom was he angry for forty years? was it not those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness. and to whom did He swear that they should not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? And so we see that they were not able to enter bc of unbelief.

that is really interesting to me. no wonder the church hasnt entered into rest, there is so much unbelief in the body of Christ. thru hurts and disappointments. but its clear to see that will keep us from entering in that place we are suppose to abide(rest)in. no wonder the children of Israel wondered around for 40 years, they didnt know who they were. our identity comes from the place of rest. and if you cant enter in, then you surely cant really know who you are. and if you dont know who you are, how will you know where you are going. im still chewing on this, it has seriously got me thinking alot about faith.

hebrews 4:2
for indeed we have good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them because it was not united by faith in those who heard.

do you get that. the israelites heard they were going to the promise land, but they didnt believe it, complaining the whole way. that is why they didnt enter into the rest, the promise. they had unbelief.

we need to repent first, change the way we think and start believing. we are disobedient if we walk through life not believing the promises of God.

wow, who preaches that? no one. i guess because it is heavy. but it is truth and needs to be told.
